SAN FRANCISCO – President Joe Biden on Thursday met the spouse and daughter of Alexei Navalny, the Russian opposition chief who died final week in a jail camp, and known as him “a person of unimaginable braveness.”

Biden, talking to reporters in California, reiterated that Washington plans to impose a wide selection of sanctions on Russia and its chief Vladimir Putin following Navalny’s demise.

Navalny, 47, fell unconscious and died all of the sudden on Friday after a stroll on the “Polar Wolf” penal colony above the Arctic Circle the place he was serving a three-decade sentence, the jail service mentioned.
